DNA Updates
- AL, a distant cousin through Temperance Posey. Temperance Posey supposedly is my ancestor through the Lankford line, however, I have not yet connected her to my tree. I will tag this one for later.
- TE, a 6th cousin through Isaac Lowe and Margaret McLees. I have most of his line built out so I will complete.
- OS, a 5th cousin 1x removed through Benjamin Lankford. I have about half his line built out and will add in the rest.
- CM, a not so distant cousin thru John Thompson and Sarah Butler, does not have a tree associated with his DNA results. This match had a result of 112 cM which I could not ignore. His last name isn’t super common (like a Smith or Jones) so I checked my tree for any possible matches. I think I actually have him in my tree already. What little information is on his profile matches with the information I have in the tree. I do have a couple hints that haven’t been accepted, and they further confirm that he is my 3rd cousin.
- LL, a distant cousin thru Henry Thompson and Nancy Cunningham. Again, I had him in my tree already and was able to match him up.

The vast majority of entries were for Isaac Cox, however, David, Gabriel, Henry, John and even Susannah have entries listed. Page 163 provides a list of grants issued by the Commonwealth of Kentucky after 1792.

- CC, a distant cousin, needs sources. I started with the 1950 census and added several others for her and other family members.
- SF, a distant cousin and DNA match, needs sources. A marriage announcement started things off for this cousin.
- MC, a distant cousin, potentially has a duplicate. After review, I agree and they were merged.
GEDminer: It’s been about three months since I last ran my GEDCOM file through GEDminer. My score inched up just a little. It only identified one potential duplicate which was not a duplicate. I instead opted to focus on removing unattached records from the file. A couple hours work resulted in about 300 records being removed. As part of this process, I compacted and backed up the file to Family Tree Maker. I am anxious to see what kind of impact this activity has on my Ancestry Tree checker stats on Tuesday.
